This pandemic is like a two sides of coin. There are many positive effects as well as negative. Let's have a look on positivity.
1. Crime incidents have become rarer:
Since the lockdown is effective, there have been a fewer road accidents, fewer murders and fewer reports of violence against women and fewer suicides — all leading up to saving of lives. There had been 40% fall in murder cases in the first phase of lockdown. Also there had been a 70% fall in rape cases,15% fall in road accident and a 100% fall in cases of violence against women and children.
2. Falling prices of fuels:
Demand for petrol sank by almost 18% in March and by 26% for diesel in the same month. By the second week of March 2020, local prices of petrol and diesel were down by INR 4.55 and INR 4.70 per litre respectively in Mumbai.

3. The air is cleaner:
In cities, more than half of the air pollution is caused due to vehicular emissions, adding that during the lockdown, there was a large reduction in the number of vehicles on road. S K Satheesh, Professor at Centre for Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, said that “There is a large improvement in air quality, especially in urban areas — from alarming or poor to satisfactory or good. The main reason is reduced human activities. On an average, reduction in particulate matter (PM) concentrations over southern part of India is around 50-60%, and over the Indo-Gangetic basin, including Delhi, UP, Bihar, West Bengal etc it is as much as 75%."
People in the northern Indian state of Punjab are reacting with awe at the sight of the Himalayan mountain range, which is now visible from more than 100 miles away due to the reduction in air pollution caused by the country's coronavirus lockdown.
4. Filmy hero became a real life hero: Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood has offered his juhu hotel in the city for the healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses and the paramedical staff, for stay as they battle the coronavirus pandemic.
Sonu Sood has penned and sung an emotional poem and created an anthem of hope for all coronavirus warriors. Some lines of the beautiful poem read as, "Maana Ki Ghani Raat Hai, Iss Raat Se Ladne Ke Liye, Pura Bharat Ek Sath Hai... Teri Koshish Meri Koshish Rang Layegi, Fir Ussi Bheed Ka Hissa Hongey, Bas sirf kuch he dino ki baat hai... Maana Ki Ghani Raat Hai, Magar Pura Bharat Ek Sath Hai...."
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been helping stranded migrant workers across the nation reach their home states. After sending 177 migrant workers stuck in Kerala to Orissa, the actor funded another charter flight to fly over 170 migrant workers to Dehradun in Uttrakhand from Mumbai.
